INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT, ECONOMIC PROSPERITY PRIORITIES: MINISTER PANDEY - WATCH VIDEO NEWS

Minister for Industry, Som Prasad Pandey, has said that the priority of the country at present is industrial development and economic prosperity after the promulgation of the new constitution.

Inaugurating the 24th annual general meeting of Nepal Readymade Garment Industry Association here on Friday, Minister Pandey said that there was support and collaboration from all bodies concerned including the private sector to augment the industries.

He said, “Economic prosperity cannot be achieved only from business. All should involve towards increasing productions and productivity. “

Stating that industrialization and promotion of export is the main agenda of the incumbent government, the Industry Minister stressed that the government and private sector should move ahead by facing challenges in this sector.

On the occasion, Minister for Commerce, Jayant Chand, said that readymade garment industry was the main source of foreign currency income and added that the government was active to revive the industry.

Similarly, Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Dr Yubraj Khatiwada, stressed that the banks should be active to provide loan in an easy manner to the export-oriented industries.

Different people including acting Chairperson of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Bhawani Rana, Chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Rajeshkaji Shrestha and former Chairman of the Nepal Readymade Garments Association, Chandiraj Dhakal expressed their views.
